Engineering and Maintenance Unit

As a service unit of the Institute, the Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) section comprises Civil and Electrical sub-units. It is mandated to prepare estimates of civil and electrical works, carry out renovation and repair of the physical infrastructure of the institute including its residential complex, and monitor/verify various jobs assigned to it. The E&M section is headed by a Coordinator and includes civil and electrical engineers (one each, T-6).

Another service unit, Instrumentation, is responsible for repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment, refrigerators, air-conditioners, freezers, water coolers, and egg cooling cabinets. This unit also tests and verifies newly purchased equipment/machinery for different divisions/sections of the Institute. The unit is headed by a Coordinator with one Instrumentation engineer (T-6).
