CARI Library is a rich resourceful centre of publications pertaining to various sub-disciplines of Poultry Science under one roof in India. Library provides services and support to scientists, research scholars and students of Deemed University, IVRI, Izatnagar. It houses about 5587 books including bound volumes of scientific journals and Poultry Science theses. The library subscribes 16 scientific journals, out of which 8 are reputed foreign abstracting, review and other avian journals.
Services Provided
Literature Search / Internet Services:
- Provides CD-ROM literature searching through BEAST CD and AGRIS CD database.
- Internet and e-mail services available with 2 workstations for staff and students of CARI/ IVRI, Izatnagar (free of cost).
Online Journal (e-journal):
- Through Consortium for e-Resources in Agriculture (CeRA) facility, the library provides online full-text/abstracts access and download of research articles from journals. http://www.cera.jccc.in
Photocopy Facility:
- Photocopy / Xerox facility is available for day-to-day requirements of library users.
Computerization of CARI Library Data
- The library database application consists of two sections: Search Database and Edit Database.
- Search Database: Users can search the complete database using keywords with logical operators (and, or, etc.). Results can be saved as text or printed.
- Edit Database: Restricted to database administrator for adding, editing, or deleting records.
- The database contains complete bibliographical information on books, compendiums, proceedings, theses, etc.
- Developed in-house by Dr. M. Nath (Scientist) and Shri S. Bhatnagar (In-charge, Library).
Working Hours
- Open on all working days from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
